The little Venice classroom is a project which responds to the Electric Barge, also known as the Floating Classroom, a business and charity moored in Little Venice. This proposal caters to the school children who go on day trips with the organisation, acting as an additional classroom and meeting space as there is currently no appropriate waiting location. The project has developed from a bridging idea (to the right) which conveniently connected one side of the canal to the other, to a light space which hangs slightly over the canal creating a dramatic and fascinating effect inside with its glass floor. Colours were carefully selected to adhere to the needs of the children, providing a playful yet calming touch.
